Moving slowly up the river, <br />the sun sliding gradually upwards, <br />I looked back at this glorious sight <br />I saw along the streets <br />the lights, <br />the people <br />the Yellow Cabs <br />the first, fresh stirrings of a Manhattan morning <br />I wanted to fly <br />right into the centre of it, <br />calling out ''I'm here, I'm home'' <br />It looked so beautiful, <br />so sleepy <br />so surreal, <br />for a second, I thought how glorious it would be <br />just to dive right down there, <br />into the harbour, <br />to immerse myself, completely <br />within this wonderous, New York dream..........<br /><br />Heather Moreton<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/manhattan-morning/
