I was happy <br />Happy in my sweet little world <br />Of friends and flowers <br />Of games and love <br />Of fun and heart-breaks <br />Yes I was happy. <br />Momentary sun-less days would appear <br />In guise of a rare rebuke <br />Or a small little tiff <br />But I was happy. <br /> <br />I woke up one morn. <br />Sun-smiling, bird-chirping. <br />Sparkling swirling morning tea. <br />‘bomb blasts in srinagar’ <br />‘bomb blasts in mumbai’ <br />bloody faces, bloody parts <br />massacre, devastation, destruction <br />Nothing left whole. <br />Nobody left whole. <br />Screams, wails, cries, sirens <br />Maddening, blinding scenes <br />Flashed on t.v. <br />I wanted to cry, I wanted to scream <br />The tears wouldn’t drop <br />The voice wouldn’t speak. <br />Days after days after days after days. <br />Blood, grime, death <br />Nights after nights after nights after nights <br />Screams, wails, curses. <br />Would it ever end? <br />Vengeance, power, passion <br />Die hard..oh no, are immortal. <br /> <br /> A day or two in mourning <br />I am back in my coccooned fake world <br />Happy.<br /><br />sohini dey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/happy-4/
