I just write, <br />When I want to. <br />When I feel the need. <br />Word by word, I proceed. <br />Writing without thinking <br />Thinking without writing <br />And a poem comes out <br />A poem: a part of my life <br />And my life is like a Poem <br />Sometimes I understand <br />And sometimes I don’t <br />The less I think <br />The more I get out of myself <br />The less I write <br />The more of the Poem <br />Is left on the shelf <br />Waiting for the right time <br />For the right poem <br />To come out. <br />Looking forward <br />For the moment, <br />I will write again; <br />I won’t let them wait too long <br />Because I’m full of poetry <br />I’m young, I’m strong <br />Got a whole shelf to write about; <br />So I have time <br />To discover myself, <br />And in that, there’s no doubt<br /><br />Ashleigh Gaffney<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-am-poetry/
