softly misted ocean breezes <br />strolled through her hair, <br />a million grains of sand between her toes. <br />the song she lifted on her voice <br />bespoke despair. <br />unwilling circumstance had interposed <br /> <br />something like a shadow's passing <br />among the words; <br />which otherwise rang true as any bell. <br />yet brightly sang she gentle verses; <br />the pain unheard, <br />except to soul that knew the feeling well. <br /> <br />slowly laying fragile body <br />upon the sand, <br />a childhood whim possessed her, suddenly. <br />and moved both arms and legs about, so <br />when she did stand, <br />she left an angel there to bless the sea.<br /><br />moon batchelder<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sand-angels/
