As I walk through the wooded autumn forest, <br />and take in the awesome humbling beauty, of a scene, <br />painted with the myriad colours of nature's pallette, <br />I am overcome yet again, with a speechless wonder <br />at the soul uplifting serenity and restful ambience... <br />I am overcome with a deep joy.... <br /> <br />as I inhale the fragrance of the falling autumn leaves <br />and savour the satisfying springiness under my feet, <br />and drink in the cleansing and purifying air under the trees, <br />and wonder at the perfection of the beautiful flowers in every hue and colour <br />I am like a child with a new toy <br /> <br />as I marvel at the variety and vastness of the plant world <br />at the perfection of every tight bud and every leaf unfurled <br />at the shapes and the sizes of every plant and every shrub <br />at the array of flowers displayed to perfection in a pot or a tub <br />I close my eyes and listen to my brain which cajoles me to enjoy <br /> <br />as I feel the green spiky grass cushioning my eagerly wandering steps <br />the butterflies fluttering about and the birds singing as if in duress <br />the children running and skipping with arms stretched wide <br />the branches of the fruit rees bowing as if to hide <br />the bountiful harvest of ripe and glistening fruit <br />I am speechless with the wonder of it all <br /> <br />If the maker can make it all so beautiful <br />how much beauty would be in Him <br />if his creations are so peace giving, <br />how much serenity would dwell in Him, <br />and I close my eyes and pray <br />and thank him for giving us this wonderful earth <br />where we dwell.......... <br />this environment is for us to enjoy <br />the.the trees are not to fell <br />the forests our our national heritage <br />not to colonize and sell..... <br />so protect our natural bounty <br />guard it jealously and well....<br /><br />Arti Chopra<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-walk-in-longwood-gardens/
