The vast mystics of Lake Erie, <br />On the north shore of Long Point Bay, <br />A ghost town throughout winters month, <br />Where Lynn river crosses Black creek way, <br />At birth, the settlement of Dover Mill, <br />Circa 1670, Francois Dollar De Casson, <br />Began the history of this harbour town, <br />A fisherman's wharf adorning Harley fashion, <br />Modern days journey feels like yesterday's return, <br />As Port Dover has taken on it's maturity, <br />The harbour front remembers the fisherman, <br />As the streets line in Harley Hog cemetery, <br />A party town every Friday the thirteenth, <br />Chris Simons and twenty-five good friends, <br />Has become the bikers haven, <br />Knowing seventy-five thousand will attend, <br />So journey on down to Lynn river banks, <br />Port Dover has many a good lore, <br />Scavenge it's shops of ol' main street, <br />Or just rest upon Lake Erie's shore...... <br /> <br /> <br />7/11/06 GJW<br /><br />Geoff Warden<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dover-mills-the-dover-delegates/
