Here again, <br />alone I lie <br />What I wouldn't do to <br />have you by my side <br />Often times I'd imagine this <br />or the magic within <br />that very first kiss... <br /> <br />I'd touch your face <br />and then you'd smile <br />We'd enjoy each other's <br />company for awhile <br />We've already discovered <br />our common ground... <br />so how is it we get from ' just friends' <br />to 'fooling around'? <br />But, hey, I always skip that part... <br />I wouldn't know the first <br />thing on how THAT starts <br />and get to the part <br />as to what we'd do <br />if I ever had the pleasure <br />of being alone with you. <br /> <br />Imagining the heat of your body <br />as I'd feel you near <br />making my heart race, <br />the blood rushing to my ears <br />I'd feel suddenly panicked <br />as short-lived as it is <br />because you'd take it away <br />with your incredible kiss <br />I'd feel you want me <br />see it in your eyes <br />our bodies move together <br />perfectly, to our surprise <br />My heart quickens and I <br />can't catch my breath <br />Getting now why the <br />French call this 'little death' <br />You're so gentle in <br />the way you move too <br />rocking me until that <br />feeling comes over you <br />Then you'd grab me and <br />draw me near <br />just so you could say the words <br />I've wanted to hear.... <br /> <br />...but that's when my cold <br />reality comes crashing through <br />I'm all alone and <br />haunted with these thoughts of you <br />You're not here <br />and still alone here I lie, <br />What is it that I wouldn't do <br />to have you by my side?<br /><br />Lee Degnan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/by-my-side-5/
