I walk among them, <br />lean and mean. <br />My instincts always, <br />sharp and keen. <br /> <br />Primordial vision, <br />a primitive thought. <br />To survive and kill, <br />is all I ever sought. <br /> <br />They're never realistic, <br />just another statistic. <br />Preoccupied with a life; <br />so materialistic. <br /> <br />They move away from me, <br />for me they abide. <br />I sense their fear, <br />they cannot hide. <br /> <br />I stare from behind, <br />piercing blue eyes. <br />In their oblivious daze, <br />trying to elude my gaze. <br /> <br />Cell phones hanging, <br />from their thighs; <br />another device, <br />to spread their lies. <br /> <br />Why survive? <br />Why be like me? <br />You have a degree, <br />but are too ignorant to see. <br /> <br />Mere possessions, <br />will not keep you alive; <br />but only the primordial thoughts, <br />by which we survive.<br /><br />Joshua Fegley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/wolf-among-sheep/
