July inspired the Juliet in me. <br />And what a Juliet I was! <br />Skinny, tanned, open-hearted; <br />The last remnants of adolescence brandishing their swords in violent mood swings. <br /> <br />I kissed him, I’ll admit it. More than once. <br />And I betrayed…whom? Myself methinks. <br />Little Miss Perfect’s sudden sin. <br />It was sudden, and painful and wonderful and exciting and tragic all at once. <br /> <br />We played Shakespeare’s game, <br />Exchanging cheesy lines, metaphors, similes, the works. <br />Romance in all its exaggerated glory. <br />A bittersweet symphony of friendship gone wrong.
