Thank you Elizabeth Pugh for your inspiration. <br /> <br />As I Went By <br />by Barbara Lynn Terry © 2006 <br /> <br /> <br />As I went by, did you notice me, <br />The girl inside I so need to be? <br />Or was it my body you just see, <br />And there you stop, <br />With a hint you'd drop, <br />That there is no girl you can see? <br /> <br />As I went by, did you stop to think, <br />That your words just make me shrink, <br />With sadness in my eyes, <br />And never could I ever be a guy? <br />Or did you just pass and laugh at me, <br />With contempt and scorn of who I be? <br /> <br />As I went by, couldn't you just see, <br />I was different that you, this girl in me? <br />Or did you just ignore my sad plea, <br />To treat me as the lady I have always been, <br />Deep inside my soul from birth, and then <br />Accept this girl that is inside of me? <br /> <br />No?
