Make this the year, Lord, about to commence, <br />when promises made are no more future tense, <br />when positive changes and goals of the heart <br />go beyond conversation and actually start. <br /> <br />Make this the year, Lord, when for the first time <br />the mountain before us is actually climbed, <br />when difficult challenges boldly are faced, <br />and others’ offenses and hurts are erased. <br /> <br />Make this the year, Lord, as never before, <br />when being Your child is a joy, not a chore. <br />Make this the year when a hunger and thirst <br />for Your word and Your Spirit make our hearts burst. <br /> <br />And make this the year, Lord, devoid of regret, <br />when others will learn through our lives of the debt <br />that was paid by the blood of the crucified Son, <br />who exchanged His clay shell for a glorified one. <br /> <br />Make this the year, Lord, through pleasure and pain, <br />when though we desire Your returning again, <br />we value each day as a treasure brand new, <br />and we seek to live lives that are molded by You.<br /><br />Keith Langdon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/make-this-the-year-lord/
