Ive travelled many countries <br /> met people white, black, yellow and brown <br />Ive seen several beautiful locales <br />but my India wins the crown.... <br /> <br />in the race for modernisation <br />we are taking steps at par, <br />marching ahead with a new found zeal <br />ahead of many by far.... <br /> <br />corruption, lawlessness or poverty, <br />still make us feel ashamed, <br />but look where we have reached today <br />with new reapect we are named, <br /> <br />the people are so friendly <br />warm hearted, loving, with a ready smile, <br />just pause and think, of our beautiful land <br />just reason for a while.... <br /> <br />one of the oldest cultures <br />respect for elders, untold, <br />the family is a mighty unit, <br />and support always for the old. <br /> <br />our parents are with us till the end <br />not sent to an old age home <br />a healthy respect for every religion <br />no matter where we roam. <br /> <br />this land of vibrant colour, <br />filled with festivals to warm our hearts, <br />each citizen lives in harmony, <br />with others in all the parts. <br /> <br />the cuisine so varied and vast, <br />and a different dress for every state, <br />where marriage is still held sacred, <br />respect for the wife does not abate. <br /> <br />what can I say for the Indian <br />proud and patriotic to the end, <br />be it cricket, or defending your nation. <br />my opinion will never bend. <br /> <br />from My bindiya to my toe rings, <br />I can proudly proclaim <br />I'm proud to be an Indian <br /> and Indian I will remain....<br /><br />Arti Chopra<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/im-proud-to-be-an-indian/
