[A silly girl's first romance.] <br /> <br />The sun-blessed lawn grown of daisies and ferns, <br />Our footprints on the grass; <br />Skipping through the park, hand in hand - <br />Next stop - make it Neverland. <br /> <br />A warm summer's day reminds me of you - <br />Of you, in your bright yellow Adidas shoes; <br />Of pretty little things that used to be, <br />But are now <br />no more. <br /> <br />Library visits were once my daily thrill - <br />I walked in accelerated pace; <br />And I'd find you in your designated corner <br />every morning without change. <br /> <br />In childish anticipation, I danced <br />my way to the giant Christmas tree - <br />Good old Santa always left for me <br />what I most wanted. <br /> <br />When at night the clock strikes half-nine - <br />That once most blissful hour - <br />When home from school I go, I look <br />on King's Cross with a different eye. <br /> <br />Authentic, eccentric, the odd-man-out, <br />Your randomness intrigued me some: <br />Pink floral-patterned belt, spearmint chewing gum, <br />Pucca wallet, Haribo candy hearts - <br /> <br />These are the things that remind me of you, <br />Of you, in your bright yellow Adidas shoes; <br />Of the silly girl that I was back then, <br />But am now <br />no more.<br /><br />Winsy Tink<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/pretty-little-reminders/
