This morning <br />in that Alice in Wonderland state <br />between waking and sleeping <br />when anything and everything is possible <br />my world began to shimmer <br />as if I had just taken a bite <br />out of the Caterpillar's mushroom <br /> <br />and in a Mad Hatter vision <br />I saw hundreds of motorcars <br />from old black and white movies <br />drive silently through the highways of my imagination <br /> <br />and even as I marveled <br />at these ridiculous oversized apparations <br />I knew they were illusions <br />that could be transformed <br />with a flourish of my conjuror's hand <br /> <br />When I awoke <br />I was left <br />with an overwhelming feeling <br />of lightness <br />and wonder...<br /><br />Alison Cassidy<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/all-this-without-drugs/
