For the past five miserable nights <br />I have been without electricity <br />My eyes and senses have become <br />acute and well adjusted to the dark <br />I have had to hunt for food <br />like a wild and edacious animal <br />and thirst for water <br />as there was not a bite to eat <br />or a potable dropp to drink <br />in what remains of my <br />once beautiful and healthy home <br />Broken glass now sticks in my feet <br />as I pace the kitchen floor <br />The stench of spoiled condiments <br />lingers in the air while <br />crazed neighbors feed the dogs <br />Splintered tree limbs scrape <br />like chalk on the blackboard of my soul <br />My brain is fully saturated <br />by relentless wind and drenching rain <br />My blood changes types and color <br />from the tenebrous and horror filled twilight <br />of my storm filled life <br />A+ positive and blue to O- negative and red <br />I howl like a wolf..... <br />alone yet not afraid of the dark____<br /><br />Ted Sheridan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lycanthropy-may-be-storm-related-look-out-little-red-riding-hood/
