The summer comes <br />And you're not here <br />What do I do <br />When you're nowhere near <br />I cant see you or touch <br />Your pale colored skin <br />I cant look at the brown eyes <br />That draw me close in <br />I cant kiss your soft lips <br />You cant hold me in your arms <br />I feel so lost <br />And unsafe from harm <br />I need you right here <br />Right by my side <br />I won't have to run <br />I won't have to hide <br />I remember the times <br />The laughter we shared <br />The little things you did <br />To show me you cared <br />But the summer no longer comes <br />It can't shine in your deep brown eyes <br />As my world gets sucked out <br />And the soul in me dies <br />Your lips are now silenced <br />Your arms cross your heart <br />The 6 feet of ground <br />That keeps us apart <br />All I have now <br />Are the memories inside <br />My cheeks are now pale <br />From all the tears that I've cried <br />I lay a black rose <br />As a sign of my love <br />Then release from my hands <br />A purely white dove <br />I pray to God <br />To show me a sign <br />Turn the rose red <br />To show he's still by my side <br />I turn away <br />Thought race in my head <br />I turn back around <br />And the rose is now red<br /><br />Cheyenne Ashley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-rose-turned-red/
