I’m sat here in the UK. <br />I’m watching tv, <br />comic relief. <br />A sharp relief <br />of poverty v. me, <br />in my world. <br />A powerful description <br />of devastation of aids. <br />I’m watching beautiful <br />children nearly all now, <br />all, already dead. <br />I’m crying as it goes past my <br />head and hits my heart. <br />And I’m thinking <br />I’m grateful. <br />for being a world apart <br />And I realise <br />It’s a lie, I despise. <br />There is no world <br />apart from the world <br />where those children <br />just died.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/they-just-died/
