How I wish others would not say; <br />And misuse the word, gay <br />For in other times and places <br />Gay had the meaning of happiness. <br /> <br />Now for some reason unknown <br />It's to lift the darkness and let light be shown <br />On others who have passions <br />With sexual overtones. <br /> <br />So dance to a different drummer if you like <br />But call it what it is, (is another word a dike?) <br /> <br />No offense is intended for we all must do what we must do <br />But please leave joy, happiness and gay as the best of old and new. <br />And be vivacious, lively, sprightly, animated, merry, blithe, and other whims <br />Such as jocular, jovial, jolly, playful, frolicsome, and sportive (to quote Webster's synonyms.) <br /> <br />s<br /><br />Sidi J.
