Through the wind flows the whispers of poetry <br />And hearts a fire <br />They dance with maiden’s fair <br />Circling round the heated embers of May <br /> <br />As the blossoms spill forth their essence <br />Lost in a trance of love thrown stars <br />Searching for the one to be their own <br />To lie with beneath the forest green <br /> <br />Sing to me of forgotten times <br />When heroes fought night and day <br />And wore his lady’s favor <br />Held within his heart forever more <br /> <br />Dance before the beauty fades <br />From eyes of many woes <br />Carry me far away <br />Into twilight’s gleam <br /> <br />Sweet lips to taste upon <br />Like honey soaked bread for a battled knight <br />Let me drink and savor the rich flavor of your love <br />As we quench our thirst from lover’s cup <br /> <br />Hear the faded trumpets sound <br />As they haunt our memories <br />Of battles fought long ago <br />And the blood of our heritage spilled upon the land <br /> <br />Souls of love and hate <br />Soar with the fairies of the night <br />Singing with the banshee’s cry <br />Shed tears for the lost and bound <br /> <br />Sing with me one last time <br />Dance the final dance <br />Remembrance of a time lost <br />As we sail away in legend’s past<br /><br />Patricia Gale<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/legend-s-past/
