I watch her from afar <br />Sunlight mingles with her golden hair <br />You cannot tell their gentle glows apart <br />Delighted sounds she makes as <br />Skipping from rock to rock <br />They merge with the bird song soaring high <br />I see her running on the wind <br />And spinning with the air as she sighs <br />The tall reeds sway gently <br />As if with her sights soft touch <br />And I dream I am the ground <br />On which she stands and the <br />Earth beneath her feet <br />And most of all a treasure <br />She may find and keep <br />As she plays with nature all around <br />And she knows not that in my heart <br />I keep her safe and sound.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/watching-from-afar-2/
