The twig underfoot cracks with a <br />feeling of wakefulness in its breaking, <br />making movements in our hearts. <br />The rustle of leaves above reminiscent <br />of fresh sheets pulled above sleepy heads, <br />in the afternoon’s freshness. <br />The babble of the brook like the pouring <br />of champagne before outpourings of love, <br />which leaves us breathless. <br />Your laughter as I tickle your skin <br />with a buttercup made for tenderness within, <br />which leaves you speechless. <br />The squirrel which gathers some nuts <br />and scurries away to keep them for another day <br />making us want to hideaway, <br />leaving us senseless. <br />The tall grass which in gentle winds bend <br />and dance so closely as they sway <br />making us yearn to move that way. <br />I look in your eyes that say. <br />A walk in the woods, <br />it’s such a very nice way to discover and play. <br />And; are we alone here?<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-walk-in-the-woods-2/
