stop these guns..these terrible weapons, <br />silence these unnerving sounds <br />such senseless, sinful violence, <br />in a world, where only hate abounds, <br />day after day........ <br />news of death and destruction, <br />innocent lives snuffed out <br />is it really Gods instruction? <br />what has man sunk to? <br />where has the humanity in us gone? <br />where are kindness and love? <br />when will it be a new dawn? <br />when will it all abate? <br />this hate, this lust for power, this bloodlust <br />innocent lives lost in a trifle.. isnt it totally unjust? <br />I weep silent tears for those gone <br />I weep even more for those left behind <br />I weep for their lost, bright hopeful, futures <br />I weep, because even God seems unkind <br />someones son, daughter, brother or wife, <br />to be senslessly deprived of a long happy life <br />how long will it take for those wounds to heal? <br />how long will it take for those numb....to feel? <br />some questions have no answers and we can only pray <br />God bless them, give them solace day to day <br />let some order enter this chaotic, despondent world, <br />show them some light, guide them the right way. <br />Deafening gunshots, left behind deafening silence <br />rising materialism is giving rise to only violence <br />stop these guns..these bombs... these killer tools <br />stop this viloence, or there will only be blood in pools <br />we were meant to better ourselves, and spiritually evolve <br />lets spread kindness, happiness, and love, a new resolve <br />lets work for a better world in our own small way <br />lets pray for a brighter future, and a peaceful day.<br /><br />Arti Chopra<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/deafening-gunshots/
