Second Innings - This is a collection of poems written for or from the point of view of an ageing person. <br />- <br /> <br />In our times, arranged marriage was the norm <br />Love marriages would certainly stir up a storm. <br />‘How unimaginable, this arranged marriage’-the youngsters quip; <br />But they never knew the joy in it. <br /> <br />Marrying and living with stranger <br />Is like solving a mystery- <br />You get to play Sherlock homes, <br />Or CID- closer home. <br />Usually relationship begins from hate <br />For your stinking fate. Then, <br />Hints about your spouse’s character <br />And clues about their habits <br />All get dropped in bits. <br />You then have to play it smart <br />Begin from the very start <br />Piece the hints together like a jigsaw. <br /> <br />Slowly things shall be revealed <br />And gradually the fun shall begin. <br />The stranger then becomes your best friend, <br />Eventually a soul mate. <br />If you both play it right, <br />Love will blossom <br />Wilted will be the initial hate. <br />Voila!
