my legs ache from walking behind that damn lawnmower <br />cutting the heads off blades of grass is harder than it sounds <br />especially at my age..... <br />then there were those damn gutters and downspouts <br />clogged full of leaves from winter winds <br />add to that the pollen sacks from this spring thaw <br />and no amount of rain was going to flush them clean.... <br />holding that blower on them at arm's length for hours <br />was like blowing a nose full of snot from a monster <br />my entire body is rebelling..... <br />it feels like some prick drove a spike through my feet <br />and I am permanently affixed to my bathroom floor <br />where I now pop two aspirin more than the recommended dose <br />just to keep from feeling the excruciating pain of the aging process.... <br />I want to live to a very old age but die young of heart....... <br /> <br />2007 © Ted Sheridan<br /><br />Ted Sheridan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-love-the-smell-of-fresh-cut-grass-and-dog-shit-in-the-morning/
