Torn apart by wind streams <br />Flying past on currents unseen <br />No longer resembling any text book formations <br />Scudding by on a hastened path <br />To reach oblivion without minds shape <br />Origins unknown without any destination <br />A shadow of their former forms <br />These clouds speed past on winds <br />Whipping them into unfathomable wisps <br />Of shady ephemeral entrails <br />Spread across a shapeless sky <br />As in a final dissolution <br />Of any visible constitution <br />Perhaps I did once wander across the sky <br />But now with winds at my back <br />I am dispersed by urgency <br />And ever present need for change <br />In this modern “life” <br />Of hurricanes and whirlwind fads <br />Permanency only left to reside in death <br />Where is meaning, shape, and form <br />Where is a life well worn <br />What drives the wind drives me <br />I see the heavens still <br />When I look up to find I <br />and remember <br />What drives the stars drives me.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/life-force-2/
