T'was a wood pecker <br />That's his moniker <br />Given that with a frequent blow <br />He searches for insects, below. <br /> <br />Sad wood pecker that he is <br />Doesn't understand preservatives <br />That man imparts <br />To save the wood from insect upstarts. <br /> <br />Yet he hangs there by talons extended <br />Hopeful that Nature is better intended <br />To provide grubs that likewise don't understand <br />The ways of man. <br /> <br />s<br /><br />Sidi J.
