As we grow older <br />with each day that comes along, <br />this is when we view our memories, <br />for something to lean on. <br /> <br />We remember our teenage years, <br />the falling in and out of love, <br />the fun we had acting crazy, <br />at any given hour of the day. <br /> <br />We also remember <br />our marriage bliss, <br />the romantic strolls along the beach, <br />walking hand in hand. <br /> <br />Unfortunately, sadness hides there to, <br />and as we open one door, <br />we open that one too, <br />and those memories mingle with the happy ones. <br /> <br />Although they may bring a tear, <br />the happy ones <br />overtake them, <br />to put a smile on your face. <br /> <br /> <br />28 May 2007<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/something-to-lean-on/
