words of comfort and care <br />a sense of belonging <br />I have search all my life for those <br />I have looked everywhere around me for those <br />but I never found a trace of either <br />in all those around me <br />my blood <br />my family <br />my friends <br />not a trace <br />my home <br />my school <br />I was giving up hope <br />when I found them both <br />in complete strangers <br />and those of which <br /> are my saviors <br />I searched for a place to belong <br />truly belong <br />where I can be myself <br />I never found it <br />a place where I can <br />be myself <br />and not be rejected <br />not be harmed <br />not be yelled at <br />but then I found it <br />and this is it <br />this is my home <br />this is where I meet those that shared with me words of comfort and care <br />how is it that people I have never meant <br />can fix so much <br />for they have given me a home <br />like no other <br />they have given me comfort <br />without judgment <br />they gave me care <br />without asking for things in return <br />they accept me <br />it is so strange to be accepted <br />for I never was by those around me <br />I do not understand how <br />but these people do <br />and slowly but surely I am learning to trust <br />I am learning to open up <br />its sad <br />for I can do it with a complete stranger <br />and yet those I have lived with <br />do not here a word<br /><br />Scarlet .....<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-have-a-home-finally-in-the-works/
