Rigid denials carved reflections in the floor <br />In beer drenched coats and thrown away inhabitations <br />Tussled hair and sweat soaked shirts <br />Throwing caution to the wind <br />Dancing to personified emotion <br /> <br />Your eyes leaking sonnets while you wake <br />Dazzled and unsuspecting in the absence of light <br />I mime your words with you <br />Tearing every inch of sanity to hear that voice <br />Dancing to the essence of life <br /> <br />Yet those words leak into my blood as you did <br />Circulate my deepest wishes and fears <br />Hair flung to hide my eyes <br />My laughter bent and bitter so you won’t know <br />Dancing to the pain I harbour <br /> <br />I stay so I can see you one last time <br />Dreary smiles and chatter leave me weak <br />Friends who still don’t know <br />You look at me and my knees leave <br />Dancing to end the stupid lies <br /> <br />You move and I move with you in my mind <br />Your laughter is the blood pumping though me <br />A thousand worlds exist and I am here <br />Envious of those who get to know you <br />Dancing to the dredge of laughter <br /> <br />I fall though every precipice you leave behind <br />Dying every time your fingers move your hair <br />Sitting as still as I am able <br />Rolling paper so I am occupied <br />Dancing to the sorrow of time <br /> <br />Dancing so you think that I don’t mind<br /><br />Hayley Lewis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dancing-9/
