You sit alone in your room; <br />your mind wanders <br />to the sound of a tune. <br />A tune that was a hit <br />so long ago when you were young. <br />You remember the first time you heard it, <br />and where you were at the time. <br />Suddenly a memory springs <br />from the back of your mind. <br />Coloured lights and dancing feet <br />move across your mind. <br />Your wish now is <br />bring back the time. <br />Bring back the days <br />you remember so well. <br />Days when there was <br />a new dance craze every week, <br />when groups played instruments <br />before the synthesiser was born, <br />when songs had lyrics <br />that everyone could sing <br />and a tune everyone could hum. <br />Bring back the teenage time <br />before the years flew away. <br />Now in reality I sit and smile, <br />wishfully thinking I could <br />bring back the time.<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/bring-back-the-time/
