Wails of screaming silent apathy <br />Come from all the streets dark windows <br />Fed through satellite dishes <br />With set meals <br />Of crusted current news and views <br />Social statements from “the street” <br />Or expressed by “neighbours” <br />Ones that you never meet <br />I feel like shouting loud <br />Come out into the road <br />And meet the crowd of lonely people <br />That are o’pressed together in this city <br />As I walk down the bright lit street <br />In the evening as many “sleep” <br />Looking up to the stars and moon <br />Was I born too late?
