Everyday the same routine, <br />following orders, part of a team. <br />Roll out of bed around four, <br />shower, have breakfast and out the door. <br /> <br />Facing traffic, swears and sneers, <br />hurtful feelings, ah who cares. <br />Drivers on cell phones, giving the finger. <br />music blaring, powerful singers. <br /> <br />The closer you get to the office door, <br />that feeling of dread hits you once more. <br />You look across the crowded room, <br />observe the faces of doom and gloom. <br /> <br />You say to yourself, I want much more. <br />I need the strength to walk out that door. <br />Reality steps in, you know you can’t win. <br />Tomorrow you start all over again. <br /> <br />Written: June 25,2007<br /><br />Melvina Germain<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/086-poor-working-stiff/
