The sun’s finger, <br />drifts through my window everyday. <br />It warms the room <br />and the person sitting there. <br /> <br />He stands by the window <br />looking out at the world <br />with joyous voices <br />hailing summer fair. <br /> <br />All the flowers <br />in the garden <br />sparkle the day <br />with colour there. <br /> <br />There are no tears <br />of sorrow, <br />only laughter and joy <br />knowing summer is here. <br /> <br />The world seems alive <br /> with song and colours <br />coming from here and there <br />now that summer is here. <br /> <br />The throes that winter brought <br />have vanished with the sun. <br />Little birds greet each morning <br />with the waking of the sun.<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/summer-53/
