I shall no longer <br />Say goodbye! <br />Goodbye shall no longer <br />Be in my vocabulary! <br /> <br />It is too harsh, <br />Too ugly, too final! <br />It is a word <br />I shall no longer say.... <br /> <br />I shall, instead, say <br />'Au revoir, ' (till we meet again) , <br />Or maybe you will hear <br />'Vaya con Dios, ' (go with God) . <br />Or, with hands pressed together, <br />I shall bow, and say, <br />'Shalom (peace) , <br />Then I might say, <br />As the Zulus in South Africa say, <br />'Hamba gahle', or go well, <br />And you must reply, <br />'Sala gahle', or stay well. <br />Or would you rather hear <br />'Aloha, ' which is, 'Come again, and soon, ') <br />Or with my Southern accent, <br />I shall say, and mean it, <br />'Y'all come back, now, you heah? ' <br /> <br />Then I shall think <br />I will see you again, <br />Or meet you someday soon <br />When I least expect you, <br />Or should I simply say, <br />'Please, stay?
