I wander through
Field and wood and garden,
And as I wander,
I wonder
At my Creation.

As I ramble
Through fields
Of summer ripeness,
Blessed grain hanging heavily,
Berries tilting vines to the ground,
Fruit trees kissing the earth,
Ready for picking,
Dust hanging in the still air,
Sunshine beaming,
I wonder.

As I creep
Through woods of shade, cool and deep,
A babbling brook wanders with me,
Over stone strewn path,
And I am amazed.
A feeling of protection
Steals into my soul
As branches hang low over me,
Sheltering me,
Wrapping arms of green about me,
And I wonder.

As I stroll through the gardens' glory,
Ablaze with color unbelievable,
Flitting butterflies, like living flowers,
Float gently by,
Buzzing bumbling bumblebees,
Drunk with nectar, fly,
A perfume, sweet and uncollectable,
Hangs in the air,
And I wonder.

As I go
At end of day,
I stand, humbled
At my creation,
And I sing praise
To my Creator,
And as I wander,
I wonder.

Scarlett Treat

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-wonder-48/
