When a child's eyes open <br />At night, looks around the bed... <br />Teddy bear winking back with <br />Black, button eyes...rattles, <br /> <br />Clothes covering the quiltlet, <br />Cheerios clutched in sleepy fingers, <br />All is all right... <br />All is as should be... <br /> <br />Wall covered with Tigger posters, <br />Scooby Do, Santa, a horse or two. <br />The door is open... <br />Night light glowing... <br /> <br />A shadow stops by the window... <br />Waves hello, waves 'sleep tight'. <br />Passes silently past... <br />The child sleeps, happy. <br /> <br />Hush.
