The room dark as a tunnel with no light <br />Slowly the last breath was released from her chest <br />Her heart crying no this can not be <br />I am not ready to leave <br />A darkened voice speaks, it is time <br /> <br />Sitting erect in her bed <br />Beads of sweat pouring down her forehead <br />Heart racing like four hundred horses pushed to the limit <br />Realizing it was just a dream <br /> <br />Sitting quietly bowing her head <br />Protect me Father against all harm <br />Encompass me with your guardian angels <br />Let no harm enter your hedge of protection <br />Shield me oh Lord <br /> <br />I give you thanks for this day <br />For the life you have given me <br />For your mercy that is new ever day <br />You are the giver of life and for this I praise you <br /> <br />Help me to love were there is hatred <br />Show me your way not mine <br />Guide me to help others <br />Lead me to your path of righteousness <br />And forgive me of my sins <br /> <br />Placing her feet upon the floor <br />Opening the door to a new day <br />Forgetting the fear placing it far behind her <br />Thankful for one more day<br /><br />Patricia Gale<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/releasing-the-night-of-fear/
