It is time to test the Winter Willows <br />Rooted on banked edges of Autumn suns <br />Rivering through September, on their way <br />Downstream...rapidly tumbling yesterdays <br /> <br />Around boulders into quiet, still coves. <br />Winter Willows...forever sentinels, <br />As they were when foliage was Springtime green... <br />With silent roots, cave deep under this stream... <br /> <br />Supporting, housing, protecting waters <br />Advancing across the sky. From mornings <br />Of April, to twilights of November, <br />Willows journey. Yet, always remember <br /> <br />The Autumn sun, warm, fertilized with years, <br />Draws young shoots from old roots.
