Gulliver Gimble - Autumn's Leaves

Anticipation as wiled winds settle down.
Stretching shadows can again be found.
We look for autumn’s leaves upon our ground.

My neck is awed, a smile across my face.
Someone’s laughter we all try to place.
Children paint pumpkins, so hard to trace.

September teases and October squeezes.
November surely brings sniffling wheezes.
Welcome December for winter’s freezes.

So long blue birds, good bye buntings.
Your summer dance was truly something.
Soon old jays will come loud and thumping.

So I wait in anticipation for season’s long end.
Cold days and nights are just around the bend.
A harvest for change we will all soon begin.

The colors combine to make fire among trees.
Sway gentle branches for all who pass by to see.
One last dance before winter takes autumn’s leaves.

Gulliver Gimble

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/autumn-s-leaves/
