Its 5am and still I don’t sleep, <br />Head in my hands I gently weep, <br />I have a pain that goes o so deep, <br />Exhausted, <br />I can barely stand on my own two feet. <br /> <br />Its 5am I find myself sitting on my bed, <br />I do not lie down because it hurts my head, <br />My body relaxes my mind runs wild, <br />Thoughts and emotions just spiral and spiral. <br /> <br />Its 5am and what do I see, <br />But the sun shining dimly back at me, <br />It’s a new day but when did yesterday go? <br />When did night give way to the early morning glow? <br /> <br />Its 5am and I’m almost scared to go to bed, <br />Scared of what thoughts I will think of next, <br />Ludicrous wonderings within my mind, <br />Thinking ridiculous thoughts all of the time. <br /> <br />Its 5am and I ask myself why, <br />Why must I feel nothing but pain behind my blue eyes? <br />I can’t shut down; my mind goes faster as it rushes by, <br />I’ve got me so angry that even if I try, I cannot cry, <br /> <br />Its 5am and times moving slow, <br />Getting so hard now all I want to do is let go, <br />Of everything in my mind in one swift blow, <br />But I can’t, feels like my thoughts are wrapped up in knots and bows.<br /><br />Kaspa Richards<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/5-am/
