My thoughts do wander <br />Like the restless waves upon the sea, <br />To lovers new and lovers old <br />And loves not meant to be, <br />Yet still my heart is aching <br />As I think of days gone by, <br />And all the hopes and dreams I had <br />Now vanished in the sky. <br /> <br />My thoughts do wander <br />Like the ever-changing wind that blows, <br />Not caring where it's heading to <br />Or wandering where it goes, <br />Yet still my heart is aching <br />As I think of you so long, <br />And all my hopes and dreams I had <br />That seemed to turn out wrong. <br /> <br />My thoughts do wander <br />Like the endless river flowing by, <br />To far and distant places where <br />My soul shall always lie, <br />Yet still my heart is aching <br />As I think of times now passed, <br />And all my hopes and dreams I had <br />That just could never last. <br /> <br />My thoughts do wander <br />Like the clouds that float so high above, <br />Thinking of the days gone by <br />And unrequited love, <br />Yet still my heart is aching <br />For I long to be with you, <br />But all my hopes and dreams I had <br />Now never will come true.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-thoughts-do-wander/
