I miss the sea and its cavalry of waves <br />I miss the salty air and salty breath <br />My heart leaps to jump into its arms <br />I miss the subtle breeze felt from afar <br /> <br />My love for the sea is like a dream <br />No shadow, taste, smell, or sound <br />In which I sail forever over voyage <br />Not comprehended as I solely engage <br /> <br />Impatient am I for want to run to sea <br />I could leave everything behind me <br />I’ve become restless in my care <br />If only there were hope I might fare <br /> <br />And on to sea and on to unending waters <br />Where life is love and skies are bliss <br />To the undying lands where sleep is naught <br />Where no heart takes a single thought <br /> <br />The waters of the sea are never ending <br />Impatient am I for want to run to sea <br />They come from no place; stay everywhere <br />But it does not matter for I am loosely there <br /> <br />The sea will not run to me so quickly <br />Thus, I will run to it and meet my end <br />And sparks another ambition, unclear what it will be <br />Then goes ever on a cycle I hardly comprehend<br /><br />Annie Cordelia Adams<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/cavalry-of-waves/
