Do you think the world will notice <br />When you are dead and gone? <br />Do you think the grass will cease to grow, <br />The birds give up their song? <br /> <br />Do you fancy sun will fail to rise, <br />Or moon at night not shine, <br />The public clocks come to a stop, <br />Refuse the hours to chime? <br /> <br />Alas, you’re much mistaken, <br />If to such hopes you cling. <br />The grass will go on growing, <br />The birds still gaily sing. <br /> <br />At dawn the sun shall duly rise, <br />By night the moon shall shine. <br />The clocks at the appointed hour <br />Their merry notes shall chime. <br /> <br />The world paid scant attention <br />The day that you were born. <br />The world will not bewail your loss, <br />When you are here no more. <br /> <br />6/1/08<br /><br />Denys E.
