Theres a town on a hill <br />Thats in my dreams <br />It stands so still <br />It closes my eyes to what I see <br />The lights that shine through <br />Are all make believe. <br />Theres a one eyed sailor dancing around <br />He falls every time he goes to sit down, <br />He's been out of the navy for forty years <br />But all his dreams still bring back fear, <br />If you look in the closet you can find my bones <br />When the light hits the ground it begins to moan, <br />My mind is the sidewalk walking all around <br />And no one helps me, up off the ground, <br />An angels drinking whiskey by the bar <br />He fills his lungs up with tar <br />When he fell down from heaven <br />He lost his wings in the yard, <br />Tell the old blind man at the piano <br />To play some sad song blues, <br />I don't want to tap my feet <br />I want to soak myself in booze, <br />So now the suns coming up <br />Its time for me to take a ride, <br />And show that road I mean business <br />And let my tires commit the crimes.<br /><br />Blaine McCanless<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dream-34/
