Tinkling chimes in wistful winds <br />incantations sung upon a breeze <br />and incense hanging in the air <br />flowers scent heavy laden <br />with petals falling gentle held <br />balls of ice high up high <br />descend and melt in soft blue sky <br />atmosphere more subtle still <br />carries feelings far from here <br />stars sing sweetly as they fly <br />through an airless empty darkness <br />far past the limits of earths carcass <br />and throughout with time its master <br />the universe spreads out faster <br />time is slowly slowing down <br />as the earth continues round <br />vast cosmic forces rule the heavens <br />man can wonder look with awe <br />but cannot influence what is there <br />introspective bound by forces <br />that keep to natural courses <br />no matter what your creed or faith <br />we have our time and place <br />humility is in the air <br />if we would just stop and look and care.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/an-atmosphere-of-humility/
