Always so <br />much of you <br />around <br /> <br />when you are not <br />around! <br /> <br />Here <br />an earring <br /> <br />blooming <br />at the side of the sink <br /> <br />a knocked over bottle of perfume <br />beautifying the air <br /> <br />a forgotten panties <br /> <br />fragile <br />as cobweb <br /> <br />adorning the bedroom mirror <br /> <br />reflecting <br />upon itself <br /> <br />here <br />a nylon stocking <br /> <br />slinking along a bookshelf <br /> <br />a snake reaching for the Shakespeare <br /> <br />a suspender belt <br />crowning a Bible <br />a bra <br />becoming a mountain range <br /> <br />its twin peaks <br />reflected in a lake of mahogany <br /> <br />a broken cigarette like a swan <br />floats by <br /> <br />your footsteps... echoing down the path <br />then echoing...back up again <br /> <br />breathless the door <br />opens again with a bang! <br /> <br />“I forgot to give you <br />a kiss! ” <br /> <br />A kiss <br />is deposited <br /> <br />upon my naked behind <br /> <br />the only flesh <br />straying out of bedclothes. <br /> <br />And then <br />you’ve gone again. <br /> <br />A human storm. <br /> <br />The room <br />(as always) <br /> <br />so <br />full of you.<br /><br />Dónall Dempsey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/so-full-of-you/
