Here we are <br />standing in the same room <br /> <br />as each other. <br /> <br />Gasp! <br /> <br />Breathing in the same air! <br /> <br />We hanging <br />on each other’s every word. <br /> <br />We drinking in <br />each other’s every thought. <br /> <br />The room <br />filling up with words & thought & feelings <br /> <br />until there is not <br />enough room <br /> <br />for us all <br /> <br />and we are squashed against the ceiling <br /> <br />unable to say <br />another word. <br /> <br />Speechless. <br /> <br />I mange to float across the room & <br />open a window <br /> <br />and we float free <br />into a starless sky <br /> <br />leave the room behind <br />full to the brim <br /> <br />with words & thoughts & feelings <br /> <br />while we <br /> <br />pin ourselves <br />to the night sky <br /> <br />the only two stars <br />in all that Heaven.<br /><br />Dónall Dempsey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/here-we-are-3/
