I yearn to break free <br />of this bittersweet prison <br />I call my life <br /> <br />Trapped in a box <br />Forever in this room <br />Desiring to be in a chest <br />Sturdy, dependable <br />A metaphor of forever <br /> <br />Why am I trapped <br />In a place like this <br />Is my destiny mapped <br />And my dream's just a wish? <br /> <br />Always beside a better me <br />Always the last thing <br />People see. <br /> <br />Just a tiny little box <br />No worthy of praise <br />And the mask starts to crack <br />Another scarred face. <br /> <br />Again the tears will fall <br />And still nobody see <br />Nobody to listen to my call <br />To hold my hand, to set me free. <br /> <br />The end will come <br />For me to let go <br />Tired of being in the dark <br />So-called friends who never knew: <br /> <br />I am me <br />A victim of my destiny <br />A shadow of my dream <br />Walking a path, solitary <br />'till death will set me free.<br /><br />Izobelle Pulgo<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-little-box/
