That final hour in the cell
will be hell
Yeah Well!
The time has come
for the final good-byes
leave all that behind
the sighs, the cries
the halls, the walls
springs, the things that brings more
to those sleepless nights
while you strive to stay alive
but, you have to fight
The bars, the scars you've endured
throughout the years
The floors, the scores left unsettled
Those iron doors
that go Clang, you go 'Dang'
Why the hell am I in this cell?
Leave me alone, I wanna go home
I want my wife, my dog Spike
I need my kids, It's time to live
I want a meal that's for real
you know the deal
I wanna be free, I need my family
Then, reality sets in
and, you ask
Will this be the day I stay
in an eternal sleep?
Will this memory remain
a thing of the past
if so
how long will it last?

(2001)

MAXINE P.
