Gold is a metal that glints in the sun, <br />a precious metal that everyone wants some, <br />but gold can also be more special <br />when friendship looms on you. <br /> <br />Friendship is something special <br />and worth more than the metal gold. <br />For once, it’s wrapped around you, <br />you will never feel the cold. <br /> <br />It maybe invisible to the touch, <br />but can still be felt. <br />For when you are in need, <br />a friend is always there. <br /> <br />Their words melt the coldness <br />that comes from despair <br />and turn your frown <br />from an upside down smile around. <br /> <br />There is an old saying <br />that goes just like this, <br />with one friend you’ll never need <br /> to ever be lonely again. <br /> <br />So when you have a friendship <br />take care of it with all your might, <br />for if you let it go <br />it may disappear out of sight. <br /> <br />29 January 2008<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-friendship-3/
